Всем здравствуйте.
У кого звук на CMI8738? Кто что скажет?
Я могу сказать следующее:
* cmpci.o v2.41-nomodem, получающийся из официальных ядер -- отстой.
Через некоторое время вешает XMMS (т.к. время нужно относитльно
продолжительное, то вылазило на нем)
* cmpci.c v4.03, который раздают на http://www.cmedia.com.tw/ ,
прекрасно работает под 2.2, но не собирается под 2.4. Это "официальный"
драйвер под Linux от C-Media.
* cmpci.c v5.58 с http://members.home.net/puresoft/cmedia.html (это
homepage автора) собирается с 2.4 (пришлось только исправить EINAL на
EINVAL), работает (будучи собрано gcc 2.91.66, как и XMMS 1.2.4 с 3DNow
и все в BCL6.2) _без_ проблем. cmpci v 5.64 чем-то меня огорчил,
помнится.
* все это (2.41, 5.58, 5.64) в комплекте с xmms-1.2.4 (3DNow,
опять-таки) под Spring 2001 регулярно (но непредсказуемо, т.е. не дефект
потока) "глотает" кадры, несколько десятых секунды звука просто исчезает
куда-то ("проскок", а не тишина). Ядро 2.4.3 с kernel.org, собрано kgcc
AKA gcc-2.95.3 19991030 под Athlon.
Эксперименты со сборкой xmms без 3DNow и ядра при помощи gcc-2.91.66
пока не успел провести.
Что бы хотелось?
Увидеть cmpci.c х-бы 4.03 (уж железно работает) в ядре 2.2, и 5.х (с
тестированием охотно помогу) в ядре 2.4. В идеале бы пропихать патч в
ядро, но в силу не очень кошерно оформляющего свое детище автора (там
Configure.help в комплекте лежит!), боюсь, это еще нескоро. Я даже
ChangeLog'а особо-то не нашел, кроме замшелого.
Впрочем, я сделал cmpci-5.64-vs-linux-2.4.3.diff.gz -- если надо....
