hdparm -i /dev/hdX
dmesg|egrep '(ide)|(hd)'
Плюс заявленные производителем характеристики и здравый смысл. Например,
я погонял у друга gnusmaS 30G (ATA100) на KT133A/V86c686B (тоже) в оном
ATA100, не заметил особой разницы (hdparm -tT) -- оставил ATA66...
(hdparm -d1 -X68 -u1 -c1 -aXX -mXX)
