Если мне не изменяет память, libwrap ответственна за использование
содержимого hosts.allow, hosts.deny суперсервером xinetd. В документации
по xinetd что-то было насчет отсутствия необходимости в этом использовании
для упрощения контроля доступа. Грубо говоря, xinetd = inetd + tcpd
Если интересно:
man tcpd
man hosts.allow
man hosts.deny
Если нет: /usr/share/doc/xinetd*
P.S. Пишите в рассылку Сизифа. Если пишете и сюда, и туда, не надо делать
