Насколько я вижу, обе материнки - с виавским чипсетом. Про Акорп ничего не
скажу, что же касается ГигаБайт - у ней мост 686B, который, кроме
собственных глюков (как правило, к настоящему моменту подправленных на
уровне BIOS), достаточно коряво поддерживается в Линуксе.
В этом месяце здесь уже проскакивал тред про трудности с установкой Линукс
на мать с 686B, кроме того, на грабли наступил и я лично с Soltek SL-75KAV
VIA KT133A.
Как правило, все решается передачей "правильного" параметра ядру при
инсталляции - отключить UDMA, хотя в моем случае достаточно было указать,
который из hdx - CD-ROM, и все завелось (с _включенным_ UDMA).
О надежности работы судить не могу - у меня мать Soltek в домашнем компе,
так что в режиме 24x7 я ее не использовал :-)))
