Здравствуйте!
Уменьшил скорость cdrom в /etc/fstab c помощью параметра speed=24, но
впечатление такое, что ничего не изменилось. hdparm -e и eject -x тоже
ничего не дали.
А можно ли как-нибудь точно определить, какая теперь скорость?

Вопросом на вопрос: откуда уверенность, что привод CD _умеет_ работать на
24-х скоростях? Для своего TEAC'а я узнал, что его допустимые скорости 10,
20 и 40 - правда, с помощью CDSlow под Windows - native утилит под Lin я
не нашёл даже на freshmeat :-(((
Так вот, eject -x 20 отрабатывает у /me на ура.
