Сегодня два часа пытался поставить локальный принтер в бете 5.0.
Сходу я эту тяжелую задачу не осилил, но первые яркие впечатления
приобрел. Если в 4.1 локальный принтер ставился почти автоматом и
не требовал никаких специальных знаний, то в 5.0 все существенно
усложнили непонятно из каких соображений. Дополнительно неприятно,
что куда ни ткни в справках, почти везде ответ: справка отсутствует,
а описание "Параметры системы" приведено почему-то на английском.
Не перевелись видно англоманы в нашем Отечестве.
А теперь представим, что эту ОС решил поставить обычный русский человек,
знающий о Linux понаслышке, что она уже не то, что было, что уже все
довольно легко делается. И что у этого оптимиста дома к компу подключен
принтер. Через сколько лет он рискнет вновь попытаться поставить эту ОС?
Я уже писал просьбу нашим корифеям: распишите где-нибудь в примерах
установку локального принтера и сетевой вариант Linux-Linux, Windows-Linux
и Linux-Windows и выложите в сети, а еще лучше doc-ский пакетик с примерами
вместо зубодробильной для индивидума,необремененного особыми знаниями CUPS .
документации. Имея примеры, можно легко разобраться и со своим принтером.
