Все таки не поленился скачать из бранча все пакеты kde*-3.5.9 ,
удалил те, что не установлены в системе, добавил по требованию
еще с десяток пакетов и , после этого, #apt-get upgrade *
apt проапгрейдил 137 пакетов на "сумму" 111 Mb.
Панель ROOT su выскакивает по-прежнему, но после ввода
пароля все работает в kde.
