На "проблемном" компе прописано noauth и при подключении нет реакции браузера на запросы (раньше было - lock, так я даже после набора номера в сеть не входил).
На другом компе прописано - lock и все нормально работает.

в /etc/ppp/options нужно прописать еше usepeerdns
