Не 4.0, а 4.0.1 для этой версии

Не факт. У них rpm-ы собраны под конкретные версии ядра,
кстати, при выкачивании это нужно учесть, а следовательно
при смене ядра, нужно будет качать новый rpm.
А с исходниками проще - нужно будет просто пересобрать,
хоть тот rpm самому и сделать.

У меня V3400. Проблем тоже нет (кроме ядра 2.2.17 почему-то).
