Если в ядрах от альта не выпилили модули *1394 - всё будет ок.
Сами модули появились давно.
Возможно, для камеры понадобится прописать загрузку модуля raw1394,
dv1394 или video1394 (тут подробнее не скажу, в альте камеры не
подключал).
