Ну, собственно, с этого я и попробовал начать. И вот тут облом: у меня
ядро std26-up:
$ rpm -qa | grep kernel-image
kernel-image-std26-up-2.6.16-alt12
Это ядро 2.6 для однопроцессорных машин. Тачка ведь рабочая, не
сервер. А для такого ядра попросту нет соответствующего
kernel-modules-alsa.
$ apt-cache search kernel-modules-alsa
kernel-modules-alsa-ovz-smp - The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture modules
kernel-modules-alsa-std-pae - The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture modules
kernel-modules-alsa-std-smp - The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture modules
kernel-modules-alsa-wks-smp - The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture modules
Вот тут и возникло подозрение, что alsa в ALT ставится как-то особо,
не через модули ядра. Ну не менять же мне ядро только из-за alsa? Или
это нормально, и все давно уже переползли на smp, а я отстал?
Впрочем, да -- после установки std-smp и описанных шагов звук таки
поднялся. Так что, похоже, придется менять рабочее ядро...
