Такой опыт есть у меня:
Мать ABIT BE6-II, биос - SoftMenu III, загрузка стоит с /dev/hde
(первый UDMA-66 винт), вынь лежит на /dev/hdf (второй UDMA-66 винт)
Версия вынь - 4.10.2222
