Вход в систему будет осуществляться через терминал, если никаких других
менеджеров дисплеев не поставите.
Для среды xfce4 нет собственного менеджера дисплеев. Обычно его
используют с gdm.
Если у Вас руки чешутся заменить gdm на что-либо более легковесное,
можете попробовать slim.
