Не давно на #debian-devel Yann Dirson сказал вот такую фразу:

Это насчет console-tools. Так как этот пакет критически важен для тех
non-latin1 people, которые до сих пор пользуются консолью для повседневных
дел, мне важно знать, что о нем кто-то заботится. Не найдется ли тут
человека, который захочет перехватить maintainerство этого пакета.
Для тех кто сомневается, советую сначала сходить на
http://bugs.debian.org/console-tools
чтобы узнать о количестве багов в нем.
Если вы хоитите в том числе взять пакет на Debian maintainerство, я готов
оказать в вступлении в Debian всяческую поддержку (и проспонсировать
вас до этого).
