На одном компе - с моего миррора. У меня на локальном сервере
миррорится ftp.altlinux.org (ну, не все, десктоп только). На рабочем -
с Алтовского напрямую.
Из /etc/apt/sources.list
rpm [updates] http://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/5.0/branch
i586 classic
rpm [updates] http://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/5.0/branch
noarch classic
Все остальное закомментировано.

Я, конечно, без компиза не помру. Но не понятно, как его использовать
тем, кому это реально нужно? И почему пакет compiz-manager уничтожили,
а замену не создали?
В локальном кеше у меня остался этот пакет от предыдущих установок, но
поставить его не удается - что-то с зависимостями. Попытка поставить
его с -- nodeps счастья не принесла - все равно не работает ( что и не
удивительно).
В состав этого пакета входит /usr/bin/compiz-manager, с помощью
которого я и включал компиз. Теперь этой программы нет.
В составе дистрибутива имеется в наличии программа startcompiz. Однако
при попытке запустить её я получаю ошибку. Так же, как и при попытке
запустить startkde. При этом startx нормально стартует (оттуда и пишу
сейчас).
