Не знаю, может быть скажу заведомую глупость (тоже всю сознательную
жизнь имел дело с HP), но может быть попробовать какой-нить внешний
железный принт-сервер типа интеловского или того же паккардовского?
Какие-то из моделей, как мне казалось, сами способны что-то там
конвертить внутри себя в зависимости от установленного на порту
принтера...
