Ну, _например_, MacOS, особенно MacOS X, существенно более
дружественна к пользователю и намного более стабильна. При этом на ней
решаются все те задачи, которые решаются под M$, кроме разве что игр
(в которые в цивилизованных странах всё равно играют на приставках, а
не на PC).
Впрочем, "платформа под широчайший круг задач" --- скорее недостаток
на взгляд человека, занятого сколько-нибудь осмысленной деятельностью,
нет? "Гидросамолёт плохо плавает и плохо летает"(c).
