На f.i отличные описания настройки Postfix + Cyrus-IMAP.
Даже с интеграцией LDAP .
Настраивается за 15-20 минут и работает годами.
Если вам все равно, то берите и пользуйтесь.
Я не стану утверждать что это решение чем-то лучше всех остальных,
но у меня оно работает.
