У меня была похожая проблема в Мандрейке 9.0. Только она была сразу после
инсталляции системы. Звонил я через kppp и через Mandrake Control Panel.
Просмотрел все возможные howto, пообщался со службой поддержки у провайдера,
прописал DNS▓ы - все зря. Потом прошелся поиском по диску и нашел (не помню где)
маааааленький такой файлик kppp, не описанный ни в одном документе, не
упомянутый ни в одном встречавшемся мне форуме. Состоял он из единственной
строки, где были выписаны названия соединения и программы дозвона. Так вот
программа была выписана wvdial, которой у меня и в помине не было, и в планах
тоже. Как только вместо нее вписал kppp, байты забегали.
Может, у Вас что-то похожее.
