В HOME каталоге юзверя файл .bash_history

А ты попробуй прописать в smb.conf wins support = yes
И прописать на клиентах айпишник сервака в качестве wins сервера.
И вообще посмотри посмотри повнимательнее настройки...
Какая самба? В последних версиях smb.conf и иже с ним должны лежать в
/etс/samba/ , а не в /etc как раньше. Что testparm говорит?
