[Comm] Чем регулировать яркость дисплея в ноутбуке?

Система = бранч 5.1
В аплете "Индикатор батареи" слайдер имеется, но никакого действия на
яркость не имеет.

Решил старым провереным способом - ddccontrol. Говорю:
# ddccontrol -p

Вспоминаю как делал на десктопе:

# ddccontrol -p - ничего не поменялось.
# ddccontrol dev:/dev/i2c-0 - то же самое

Может в ноутах как-то по другому делается?
Или это аппаратная неисправность?
