Убедитесь, что подключен репозиторий http://altlinux.org/Arepo
(x86_64-i586)
Скачайте там же драйвер для LPR:
http://www.brother.com/cgi-bin/agreement/agreement.cgi?dlfile=http://www.brother.com/pub/bsc/linux/dlf/brmfc7420lpr-2.0.1-1.i386.rpm&lang=English_lpr
Установите:
apt-get install brmfc7420lpr-2.0.1-1.i386.rpm
cupswrapperMFC7420-2.0.1-1.i386.rpm
Установка на p6 проходит без проблем.
Для сканера не забудьте драйверы:
