Вообще, с Canon'ами, как и с другими, которые видно не как флешку, обмен
идет через библиотеку libgphoto2.
Какой в Симпли к ней фронтенд или как файлменеджер с ней общается?
Сам я пользуюсь digikam от KDE4. На icewm.
