Вот такая карта (Intel PRO/1000 MT Dual Port):

Вопрос: будет ли работать? Если да, то из коробки или нужно ставить

Именно про эту не знаю (под рукой 82575EB, а не 82546EB) --
но не вижу причин для особых проблем, да и поставщик заявляет
поддержку Linux 2.2.5 и выше.

Да, будет.

На 2.6.32-ovz-el работает без каких-либо проблем, модуль входит в пакет
с ядром. С остальными ядрами тоже должно жить.
