Вот хотелось бы узнать, где это "везде". Если настраивали в
~/.fonts.conf, то приведите его содержание. Если через
/etc/fonts/conf.d/, то приведите список файлов оттуда. Согласно
http://packages.altlinux.org/en/t6/srpms/libfreetype/spec субпиксельное
сглаживание никто не убирал, так что, возможно, просто где-то
ошиблись/опечатались.
P.S. Ну и нужно помнить, что правка ~/.fonts.conf повлияет только после
перезапуска приложения. Правка через /etc/fonts/conf.d/ потребует
перелогина или, возможно, перезагрузки, может кто точнее подскажет.
