Я тоже читал то обсуждение, так что PIO 0 я выставил первым делом.
Тут не в PIO и не в UDMA дело - вопрос в несовместимости железяк,
которое в виндах лечится соотв. патчем от iomega, а под линукс такого
патча
просто нет.

Отключить _ручками_ UDMA и включить PIO Mode 0
Ни какие AUTO - не катят!
P.S. А не отвечает ни кто потому, что совсем не давно это
обсуждали, только там было KT133A и DVD или CD, вообщем
всё то что не умеет UDMA. ZIP естественно входит в эту категорию.
