Кошерного решения таки нет.
Сделал по рабоче-крестьянски:
В почтовике (Thunderbird 3.0pre, тот, что в p5 положили) pop и smtp
сервера указываю
127.0.0.1 с портами 3110 и 3025.
Под wine запущен MailPorter (http://handycache.ru), слушающий на
127.0.0.1 порты 3110 и 3025 и перенаправляющий их на pop.mail.ru 110 и
smtp.mail.ru 25 через прокси, адрес, порт, логин, пароль которого
прописаны в mailporter.ini
Попутно выяснил, что acc-"настройки прокси" не работает, если прокси
находится не в локальной сети. Т.е. интернет по-умолчанию так и не
появляется. Надо в opera(е), firefox(е) и любой другой программе руками
прописывать прокси - тогда выход в и-нет есть для данной программы.
Если прокси находится в локальной сети, то и-нет по-умолчанию есть, а
почты так и нет.
Вышеуказанный рабоче-крестьянский способ помогает в обоих случаях.
