Лично я про нее у Немет читал, "Руководство администратора Linux". Это
вроде бы редхатовская приблуда, хотя в мане значится, что это от *BSD...
Вообще man chkcоnfig, там всё довольно элементарно. Просто небольшая
надстройка над /etc/init.d/.
