Subject: [Comm] Как установить программу из исходников ?

Программа exaile-0.2.14
Делаю так:
1 вариант:
распаковываю
su -
cd корень программы
незнаю как правильно набирать дальше, т.к. делаю это первый раз
[root@localhost exaile-0.2.14]# make
-bash: make: command not found
[root@localhost exaile-0.2.14]# %make
-bash: fg: %make: no such job
2 вариант:
запускаю Kconfigure
жму Make получаю видимо то же самое только в другом виде /"bin/bash:
make: ?^(o)?3/4?1/4?°?1/2???° ?1/2?? ?1/2?°?^(1)?????1/2?°"
Чего нехватает ? Что делаю неправильно ?
Как вообще правильно устанавливать программу из исходников ?
