Сегодня делал dist-upgrade из branch 4.1 и в самом конце увидел:

FATAL: Error inserting speedstep_ich
(/lib/modules/2.6.25-std-def-alt8.M41.1/kernel/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/speedstep-ich.ko):
No such device

Done.
"FATAL:...." - это к чему?
Как исправить?

Не совсем понял вопрос, но...
Специально я их не грузил, тем не менее:
[root@bob ftp1]# lsmod | grep cpufreq
cpufreq_powersave 5760 0
cpufreq_conservative 11784 0
cpufreq_ondemand 12684 0
freq_table 8832 2 p4_clockmod,cpufreq_ondemand
cpufreq_userspace 8452 0
[root@bob ftp1]# lsmod | grep speedstep
speedstep_lib 9088 1 p4_clockmod
Да, пока не ткнули! :)

Он и загружает. Выключить его достаточно - в современных дистрибутивах
hotplug не нужен (в 4.1, например).
