А причина в том, что почему-то ломается система автозагрузки модулей по
зависимостям.
Один из вариантов - выгрузить все модули звуковухи, а затем загрузить вновь.
вызгрузить можно скриптом из
http://git.altlinux.org/people/solo/public/?p=eeepc-halt.git;a=summary
а загрузить
modprobe --first-time snd-hda-intel
часто помогает, но не всегда.
