Отчего же.. У меня вот тоже бинарник просто стал работает:
[admin@klondike ~]$ uname -a
Linux klondike 2.6.18-std-smp-alt6 #1 SMP Sun Apr 29 00:41:18 MSD 2007
i586 GNU/Linux
[admin@klondike ~]$ /opt/firebird/bin/fbserver -z
Firebird TCP/IP server version LI-V2.0.1.12855 Firebird 2.0

На решение проблемы уходит в три раза меньше времени, чем на обсуждение
всех "за" и "против" её решения.
