Да, она собирается без ничего, так как никакой компиляции не
происходит, просто файлы раскладываются по нужным папкам для последующей
сборки из них чего-то-там.

Вы сделали правильно, но не до конца :-) Теперь Вам нужно скачать
src.rpm соответствующего kernel-modules, подправить уже в нем спек под
свежую версию - и собрать. Не забудте поставить kernel-build-tools
предварительно.
