Здравствуйте, читатели mandrake-russian.
Извините, что пишу повторно по тому же поводу.
Попробовал применить все ваши советы, т.е. перебрал все варианты
установки перемычек, и все, что, согласно моим скромным
познаниям, может иметь отношение к CD в настройках BIOS-а.
Единственное, чего удалось добиться: теперь установленный slave-ом
CD-ROM определяется в единственном числе как hdd.
Проблемы с чтением CD дисков под Spring 2001 все-равно остались :((
В Windows все рабоатет по прежнему без проблем.
Пытался также поэкспериментировать с hdparm -E1 /dev/hdd, чтобы
уменьшить скрость чтения - выдает ошибку.
Собираюсь скачать ядро kernel-2.2.19-alt2 (так по-моему
называется), но, так как доступ у меня через диалап, то хотелось бы
предварительно услышать от знающих людей, ести ли вероятность, что это
поможет в моем случае? Или корни проблемы не в ядре?
С неослабевающей надеждой жду хоть какого-то ответа.
