Да, похоже не использует. Это можно как-то обойти?

недостаточно?
Надо ещё как-то "login" запустить, или ещё что-то,
что залогинится с инициализацией pam?

Он, как я понимаю, просто на виджетах WindowMaker'а.
Но хотелось бы не только "ехать", но и "шашечки",
т.е. поддержку тем (как в случае со slim'ом).
