Хочу опытом поделиться.
Было мне нужно работать с p2p-сетями. Попробовал mldonkey, xmule - не то
это, что надо. Не нравится. В ALC3.0 на работе использовал aMule, но под
ALM2.4 он не одёт и не собирается. А менять ALM2.4 на ALC3.0 дома по
вполне объективным причинам не хочется.
И вот... Установил я на отдельной машинке ALC3.0, вычистил всё лишнее. А
потом просто скопировал все файлы этой системы в свой домашний каталог
на ALM2.4.
Когда мне нужно было запускать aMule, я делал так:
$ xhost localhost
$ sudo /usr/sbin/chroot ALC3.0
$ amule
И всё.
Я даже до Сизифа обновился :)
Разумеется, работает не только aMule. Я ещё LinSity-ng запускал, nexuis.
Думаю, даже KDE пошёл бы (если его на отдельном X-сервере паскать). А
сегодня даже qpxtool запустил для своего _NEC DVD_RW ND-3550A - рад поуши :)
Но это всё только для меня, а не для остальных пользователей компьютера.
Не рискнул, по соображениям безопасности.
Думаю, такое многим было бы полезно, но не все додумываются.
