fixed -- это рубленный шрифт. Он хорош для заголовков, но в регулярном
тексте по типографским канонам утомляет глаза.

Да, хотелось бы courier, но по злой иронии в ms-ttf именно он и не
работает (далее сообщение в консоли):
FreeType: couldn't find encoding 'dosencoding-cp437' for
'/usr/share/fonts/TrueType-ms/courbi.ttf'
Есть Verdana и Georgia, но это таки не совсем то...
