Моё почтение!
ALC3.0. Проблема в следующем - протянул ADSL через ethernet-модем. Сама
по себе сеть работает нормально, внешние ip-адреса пингуются и т.д. Не
работает разрешение доменных имен. В resolv.conf внесен заведомо рабочий
DNS-сервер.
Решил посмотреть через tcpdump. Увидел странную вещь - DNS-запросы идут
не на нормальный адрес сервера типа 123.123.123.123, а на
123.123.123.123.domain. Естественно, никакого ответа не приходит.
Попытался через Control Center убрать в настройках сети упоминания о
домене, оставить только hostname - графический интерфейс не дает этого
сделать (почему, кстати?). Убрал домен из HOSTNAME и /sysconfig/network,
перезапустил интерфейс - та же фигня. Пробовал в ifaces/eth0/options
вставлять DHCP_HOSTNAME='что-нибудь', не помогает.
Чувствую, что я чего-то не понимаю :-) Как сказать /etc/net, что нет у
меня никаких доменов? Дело именно в настройках eth0, поскольку при
подключении через ppp все нормально.
