Рецепт проверен для ядра 2.6.12-alt4.
Более-менеее правильных вариантов 2:
1. взять исходники из Сизифа и пересобрать локально
- нужны подходящие kernel-{feat,fix}, в Сизифе со времени выхода
последней сборки они могли и обновиться;
- время на пересборку
+ легко будет собирать доп. модули ядра
2. поставить ядро и модули из Сизифа
- проблематично будет собирать модули к ядру например для
vmware (в Сизифе gcc-3.4, а в ALM gcc-3.3)
- для video=nvidia придется обновить еще и modutils и
пересобрать с мастеровским спеком nvidia_glx, для
video=ati - не в курсе
В любом из этих случаев придется обновить mkinitrd
