Вылечилось записью:
/etc/modules
ehci-hcd
usb-storage
Попробовал убрать sync из /etc/fstab.
Cкорость вначале стала 22Мб, потом постепенно уменьшается до 7Мб.
Время записи что и с sync (запись идет и после закрытия приложения).
