Спасибо, до этого я уже как-то сам додумался. Но тот же DjVuSolo как-то делает это сугубо самостоятельно. Похоже, пора вспоминать молодость и садиться за написание софта по выделению штриховых областей на изображении... :-(

Был я там. Ничего интересного. Это, если я правильно понял, как раз описание того, как c44 применяет маски при вейвлет-кодировании. Так c44 у нас и так есть, какая разница, как он работает, если работает.
