Здравствуйте!
Отчего при после перетягивания живой системы на другую машину при
загрузке я вижу:
modprobe: Note: /lib/modutils/modules is more recent than
/lib/modules/2.4.26-std-up-alt6/modules.dep
Почему это важно и как это лечить?

more recent = более новое
должно вылечиваться автоматом (finding module dependencies)

если нет - depmod -a
