Терпения тут не причем - как говориться - работает и не пахнет... я
только сейчас случайно обратил внимание

Сделал проще - запустил ручками... не нравилось ему что в logrotate.d/
был файлик squid~ и логи snort-а были указаны левые (это не я и не АЛЬТ
их так - это FC1)
Бум надется что теперь все будет откатываться
