У меня вот тоже возникли проблемы с меню в XFCE. Пересобрал xfce4-4.2.0
из Сизифа. Всё вроде работает, а меню не генерится. Пересобрал даже menu
из Сизифа, не помогло.
При попытке update-menus -N пишет, что скрипт
/etc/menu-methods/xfce4-menumethod завершился со татусом 1.
При этом menu2.xml ни в /etc/xfce4/ ни в ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/ не
создаётся.
Если положить в ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/ прежний menu2.xml, то всё равно
на месте альтовского меню пусто. Если же вставить содержимое menu2.xml
(убил в нём предварительно строки vizible="yes") в menu.xml на место,
где стоит include этого menu2.xml, то тогда альтовское меню показывается.
