Можно настроить виртуальнык хосты так, чтобы при отсутствии index.html
отображалось содержимое кталога вместо:
You don't have permission to access /dirname/ on this server.
Прaва следующие:
# ls -la
total 16
drwxrwsr-x 3 root webmaster 4096 Nov 24 12:56 .
drwxr-xr-x 6 root webmaster 4096 Nov 24 12:21 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root webmaster 3978 Nov 24 12:41 _index.html
drwxr-sr-x 2 root webmaster 4096 Nov 24 12:56 dirname
# ls -la dirname/
total 12
drwxr-sr-x 2 root webmaster 4096 Nov 24 12:56 .
drwxrwsr-x 3 root webmaster 4096 Nov 24 12:56 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root webmaster 3978 Nov 24 12:41 _index.html
при указании в браузере http://myurl/_index.html
файл _index.html отображается.
В не виртуальном, главном хосте, содержимое каталога отображается.
