Начал тут ставить 2.4 (Citron) поверх 2.3 (Compact+Contrib, то бишь).
Вопреки (mea culpa) рекомендациям уважаемых лиц (но - памятуя о гемморое
переноса настроек при прежних обновлениях) - попробовал таки через
dist-upgrade.
Ну, тем, что сначала смачно получил по фейсу от grub-а, можно и
пренебречь.
Однако, затем - обиднее.
Итак:
заметил две мультимедийных неприятности -
1. отключилось 3D у ASUS-ой ATI видюхи;
2. что-то всю дорогу дурило со звуком при воспроизведении swf-файлов
и это на фоне того, что при загрузке было много воплей насчет недостачи
alsa-модулей (см. ниже).
Ну и рещил - "единым махом": стал ставить (каюсь - через synaptic)
соответствующие пакеты для нового ядра:
Во-первых поставить fglrx-модули
Во-вторых - alsa
А заодно - и lmsensors (тоже, понимаешь, отрубилась).
Результат :
3D и lmsensors зафурычили вовсю, а звук сдох начисто. Совсем то есть.
Вот и вопрос к All-у - куда теперь копать-то с этим самым звуком? Просто
ума не приложу.
Дополнительные сведения:
1. Вопли при загрузке (вида Starting ALSA sound driver xxxxxxx:
failed) прекратились.
2. Утилита управления aRts" явно показывает наличие звука. Графически.
3. Попытка запустить alsamixer радует сообщением вида -
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device
4. Попытка звпустить alsaconf радует сообщением вида -
No supported PnP or PCI card found
и предлагает пошукать в ISA. При том, что у меня наплатный ADI AD1985
5. На миксере (обычном) панель вывода визульно (как кажется) стала
беднее.
