Я давно про этого суслика говорил...
Вообщем, когда генерится меню в xfce, то иногда в названии какого-то из
пакетов находится неправильный символ utf-8. После этого процесс
генерации отваливается. Но меню в xfce, это xml, который соответственно
получается не well-formed. Ну и меню соответственно нет...
Кстати, попробуйте снести папочку ~/.xfce Может помочь.
