То есть, если я правильно понимаю, если интернет широкий, то можно
подключиться и к branch, хотя бы и с целью иметь выбор пакетов
побольше? Более ли стабильны версии находящиеся там, чем в sisyphus?

Сменил репозитарий, сделал apt-get upgrade - действительно ничего не
проапдейтилось и не на что не поругалось. Исчезла иконка ALT Linux в
synaptic, и сразу же отказался ставиться smplayer - Depends:
libQt3Support.so.4 - Unresolvable.
Сам mplayer и всё к нему (gui, cyrillic, tools, etc) поставилось нормально.

Соответствующий пунк в synaptic и был отмечен. При смене репозитария я
его на всёкий случай "передёрнул" ещё раз. Однако, ничего не
изменилось - synaptic за пакетами стал ходить только в интернет.
Может быть, имеет смысл отключить всё, кроме DVD ALD4, а затем снова
прописать _правильный_ репозитарий и обновиться?
