по pppoe или по локальной сети???
Если первое - то ещё нужно делать adsl-stop ;
adsl-start; если второе - должно нормально
быть ... По-подробней, плиз ....

Да обычный wifi - отель, знакомые, кафе. dhcp. несекьюрные hot spot.
