В логах стала появлятся следующая запись
sshd[12377]: Disconnecting: fork failed: Resource temporarily
unavailable
Куда смотреть и что крутить?

/etc/security/limits.conf
Видимо, нужно увеличить максимальное количество процессов для данного
пользователя.

Или увеличить число процессов для группы @root
Но лучше будет разобраться, кто съедает ресурсы, и зажать его.
